Genoa Bay Review

March 13th, 2010. Filed under: WILD Cards.

I loved this book.  Brandy is a widowed mother of a precocious five year old daughter. This single parent spends a lot of time second guessing her choices.  One of the difficult ones that she made was to up and move from Florida to Canada.

That’s only the beginning of her difficult choices.  She often wonders if it were a wise move or an act of folly as she struggles to shape up an old bed and breakfast.

This involves coming to grips with memories of a younger Brandy who spent formative years here with a woman who became a mother figure in her life.  It also involves dealing with a neighbor who will stop at almost nothing to get his hands on her property.

Genoa Bay will have you longing to move up to Vancouver Island so that you can be one of Brandy’s neighbors and friends.  Or at least spending a month or two with her at Maggie’s Place.
