Who Decreed Three?

Scripture does not give the number of wise men who sought Yeshua.
Now after Yeshua was born in Bethlehem of Judea,in the days of King Herod, magi from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is the One who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.”
Matthew 2:1-3
The manger scene has something else wrong, as well. He was a young child when they visited His house.
And behold, the star that they had seen in the east went on before them, until it came to rest over the place where the Child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great gladness. And when they came into the house, they saw the Child..

Another thought. His birth couldn’t have been in December. It was probably in late September as the flocks were still out in the field at night.
