Fourth Day

And God said, “Let there be lights in the dome of the sky to separate the day from the night; and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years,

and let them be lights in the dome of the sky to give light upon the earth.” And it was so.

God made the two great lights – the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night – and the stars.

God set them in the dome of the sky to give light upon the earth,

to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.

And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day.

And God said “Let the waters under the sky be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so.

God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.

Then God said, “Let the earth put forth vegetation: plants yielding seed, and fruit trees of every kind on earth that bear fruit with the seed in it.” And it was so.

The earth brought forth vegetation: plants yielding seed of every kind, and trees of every kind bearing fruit with the seed in it. And God saw that it was good.

And there was evening and there was morning, the third day.

The Mark of the King

By Jocelyn Green
Sweeping historical fiction set at the edge of the continent
After being imprisoned and branded for the death of her client, twenty-five-year-old midwife Julianne Chevalier trades her life sentence for exile to the fledgling 1720s French colony of Louisiana, where she hopes to be reunited with her brother, serving there as a soldier. To make the journey, though, women must be married, and Julianne is forced to wed a fellow convict.
When they arrive in New Orleans, there is no news of Benjamin, Julianne’s brother, and searching for answers proves dangerous. What is behind the mystery, and does military officer Marc-Paul Girard know more than he is letting on?
With her dreams of a new life shattered, Julianne must find her way in this dangerous, rugged land, despite never being able to escape the king’s mark on her shoulder that brands her a criminal beyond redemption.
ISLAND BREEZES
Julianne’s client died and the wrong person received the mark of the king. I’m sure you can figure out that a French prison in 1719 isn’t a very pleasant place.
A desperate Julianne manages to trade prison for exile to Louisiana. A condition of this exile – she had to marry another convict and hopefully, give birth to lots of babies to help populate the settlement.
The one thing holding it all together was Julianne’s hope to find her brother. Even with the help of Marc-Paul Girard it appears to be a long shot.
In the meantime she has to try to overcome the stigma of the mark. Few people are willing to give her a chance. Will she be able to overcome her past as she attempts to survive in this land of mud and savages?

And God said, “Let there be a dome in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.”

So God made the dome and separated the waters that were under the dome from the waters that were above the dome. And it was so.

God called the dome Sky. And there was evening and there was morning, the second day.

In Eden: The Animals’ Parable, you will experience the Gospels in a way you never imagined. You will travel with Jesus and his disciples in the Holy Land and see everything from the eyes of the animals. There is a wise old donkey, innocent lambs, legions of curious field mice, and an intrepid, loyal dog named Eden.

ISLAND BREEZES

This book is a very interesting look at the Gospels. Not a bird’s eye view, but rather a view from the animals.

What if Jesus had a dog who followed Him from the carpenter’s shop to the cross? What might that pet, along with a few other animals, be thinking along the way?

This is a beautiful retelling of the story that changed the world. I have to admit that I shed a few tears towards the end. This book will touch your heart.

Thank you, Mr. Korman, for this very special book. Thank you, Ms Parks, for your illustrations.

Keith Korman is a literary agent and novelist. Over the years he has represented many nationally-known writers of fiction and non-fiction at his family’s literary agency, Raines & Raines. The idea for Eden first came to him as a child when he saw the little calf jump across the stable in the prelude to William Wyler’s Ben Hur. And he’s been thinking about it ever since.

Illustrator Lisa Paris started painting late in life. She lives in a log cabin in the woods surrounded by all manner of critters. And a husband. This is her first book.

By Dan Walsh

An unexpected surprise brings the Mitchell family of Savannah a chance to experience the Christmas trip of their dreams. An unexpected disappointment threatens to turn it into the worst Christmas of their lives. John Finch and his friend Alfred live in the woods. Been doing it for decades. He likes wintering in Florida, but this year’s been particularly harsh. Between the cold, freezing rain and terrifying lightning storms, John’s starting to wonder how much more of this lifestyle he can take. A new friend enters the picture and changes everything. Kim Harper, the dog trainer introduced in Rescuing Finley, is contacted by a billionaire philanthropist seeking her help with a new dog training project that will help the homeless. Is he for real? And is her co-worker right? Does this rich, handsome man’s interest in Kim go much deeper than her dog-training skills? Bestselling author Dan Walsh is known for page-turning, character driven novels. Fans of Dan’s other novels, especially Rescuing Finley, as well as dog-lovers everywhere will love Finding Riley. Coming in 2017: Book 3 in the Forever Home Series – Saving Parker

ISLAND BREEZES

What started as a very special Christmas trip at Disney World turned sad for Jeffrey and his family on the way back home. Riley ran off into the woods and appeared to just get swallowed up by them.

While Jeffrey is devastated, Riley finds a way to survive the woods, and ends up in a homeless camp. Lives there are changed for the better by Riley. But will Riley ever get to go home to Jeffrey?

Eventually many lives are changed, but Riley ends up in a pet shelter. While many of the homeless are going to have a new home, it appears that Riley won’t get to go home. Will Jeffrey and his family have the worst Christmas ever?

Mr. Walsh has given us another great story. I’m looking forward to Book 3 of the Forever Home Series. Thank you, Mr. Walsh, for these heart touching stories.

Then he began to speak, and taught them, saying:

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when people revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.

Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

Matthew 5:2-12
