Chik-Fil-A Appreciation Day

July 31st, 2012. Filed under: This & That.

Tomorrow is the day  we the people plan to have a meal at Chik-Fil-A to support this fine Christian run business.  They have really good food, but I don’t often eat there as there’s not a location near me. I’ll be there tomorrow.  I believe business owners have a right to their opinions, no matter what they are.  There’s too much hatred in our world.  Will you be there?

I could no more support this cause than I could of supported this one several years ago http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaHhZ4IbVYY

    sorry if I’ve offended you

I do believe people have the right to their own opinion.

You haven’t offended me, but I’m a bit puzzled, because you said in your second comment that you do support people’s right to their own opinion. That’s actually what this was really about – the constitutional right to free speech.

Please help me understand why you don’t support marriage between two races.

    Thank you.

sorry guess I wasn’t very clear. I support freedom of speech and marriage between two people who love each other. I have many friends who are in ‘inter-racial’ marriages or ‘same-sex’ relation ships. I fully support their choice to be with the one they love. If this had be touted as just a freedom of speech thing then I would have left it alone but instead I felt attacked by what my oldest son terms ‘homophobic’ friends and relatives. When I thought deeply about it I was reminded of the Lovings and how even all these years later so called ‘Christians’ are still hateful about it.
I don’t like or support that people made this into a ‘gay’ thing and most of the people standing in line at Chick were there for anti same sex marriage support. remember when ‘gay’ used to mean happy?

my first comment should have said that I would NOT have supported the cause against the Lovings

Thanks for the clarification. I supported it, because I thought of it as a freedom of speech thing. Too many people are filled with hatred and wanted to make it something that it was not. BTW, I, too, have gay friends whom I love and respect.
