Harriet is constantly dealing with unruly children, both at home, and at school as she teaches. The new school teacher in Ladreville is trying to put her past behind her, and in doing so, has a way of upsetting others, especially the mayor/sheriff.
It’s quite a struggle for these two to get beyond their pasts and deal with a possible future. Neither one of them makes it easy.
Even though this is book three in the Texas Dreams series, it is a good stand alone book. I enjoyed watching as Harriet and Lawrence worked this relationship and the children became more manageable.
