mittnz 2009

July 11th, 2009. Filed under: Sewing on Saturday.

It’s mittnz time again for the knitters and crocheters who help keep all the hands (as well as heads, necks and feet) warm at the Cheyenne River Reservation.  We will be blitzing the rez with mittens, gloves and wristers the first week in October.  You can go to Sheep Shots and read Ann’s April 12th column for more details.

The ladies come up with some very colorful mittens as you can see in this picture of the first set of nine

  pair knitted by Kathy F.

Any knitters and crocheters out there who would like to join us in warming these hands, just let me know and I’ll do whatever I can to help you get started.  If you don’t knit or crochet, but would still like to help on the blitz, you can also send sewn and purchased mittens and gloves.  I plan to work on sewing up some fleece mittens.  I can also help guide you to patterns you might like to try.
